Vacuuming Your Carpet

The most important thing to do to keep your carpets looking great, smelling great and lasting for years is to vacuum regularly. Vacuum your carpet at least 1-2 times a week. If you have pets and/or children, if you smoke, or all of the above, it is even more imperative for you to regularly vacuum your carpets. Make sure that when you vacuum, you move over the carpet with slow, even strokes. This will allow the brush and suction of your vacuum to operate to their fullest power. If you rush over the carpet, and move the vacuum haphazardly across its surface you may miss places entirely or only the surface dirt will be sucked up as the vacuum skims the surface.

It is best if your vacuum has dual motors, one for suction and the other for operating the brushes in the "beater bar". This way, the suction in your vacuum will not be competing with the motor used to brush the carpets and stir up dirt. Also, be careful not to let all the dust and particles just vacuumed be released back into the air. Use a bagless vacuum, or make sure that the filtration bag is fully closed before you begin. If you are emptying the bag or canister of your vacuum, always wait until you reach the trash can to open the container, and close the garbage bag around your hand to diminish the amount of dust released back into the air as you clean the filter. Check out Vacuums that we like to recommend.
